The museum's exhibition introduces visitors to the history of shipping and related industries in Slovenia. The collection includes old maps, navigation equipment, models and photographs of ships, and even sailors' uniforms. Here you can learn about overseas trade, starting from prehistoric times, as well as about fishing - gear, special vessels, and methods of processing fish. The collection contains more than 14 thousand exhibits.
Just 4 km from the small town of Portorož are the largest saltworks in the entire Adriatic – places where sea salt has been mined for centuries. Here you will see entire cascades of vast pools with natural bottom coverings, where salt is harvested manually, the technology of which has remained unchanged since the 13th century.
The occupation forces made many attempts to locate the hospital built in the gorge by Slovenian partisans, but all of them were unsuccessful. During its operation, the secret hospital was constantly being improved, while the entrance to it was hidden in the forest, for safety reasons even the wounded were brought here blindfolded.
At one time the castle was reconstructed, since then it is divided into several parts - the square tower of Frederick, defensive and economic buildings. Today the building is perceived not only as a large fortress of the Middle Ages, but also an excellent platform for exploring the surrounding area. Theatrical performances and knightly tournaments are often held here.
The fortress was founded by the Freising bishops, and it belonged to them for more than two centuries, performing exclusively defensive functions. Each owner tried to leave something of their own in the architecture, the changes were not always useful. Among the most significant changes is the drawbridge, as well as the paintings of the chapel. In the 17th century, the building was slightly modified, it began to look like a noble estate. It burned down some time ago, and was abandoned for a long time.

Triglavski narodni park is considered one of the oldest protected areas. At the beginning of the park area, you can see a small pond formed by former glaciers. A plant where world-famous Lipizzan horses are bred. It was founded back in 1580. It became a center of tourism and recreation only after the end of World War II. The river itself deserves special attention, it has a turquoise color, it originates deep in the valley, surrounded by the Alps. At one time, the valley was used as an important trade route, large settlements were located on its expanses. Numerous archaeological finds are proof of this.
