The Abbey Library of Saint Gall is a magnificent medieval monastic library located in St Gallen, Switzerland. It was founded by Saint Othmar in the 8th century. During a fire in 937, the Abbey was destroyed, but miraculously the library and its books survived. Between 1758 and 1767 a new library hall was designed in a Rococo style.
