Situated on high cliffs above the Dniester, the Ţipovo Monastery is one of the largest rock monasteries in Europe. Its history dates back to the 9th century and it is famous for its unique cave temples and picturesque surroundings. According to legend, the legendary Moldavian ruler Stefan the Great married his wife Maria here.
