Old Orhei is an archaeological and historical complex. The area has been inhabited since ancient times, and traces of various civilizations can be seen here, from the Trypillian culture to the medieval Moldavian principality. One of the main attractions is the cave monastery, carved into the limestone cliffs, which is still used by monks for worship. The complex also contains the ruins of a Dacian fortress, the Golden Horde, and the medieval city of Orhei.
